The Moth, a lot of books and a Hurricane Survival.
#4 issue of things I can't help, but share with you :)
And here it is, Thursday again! I have been keeping track of the days lately. But it seems like only yesterday I shared Strange and Funny Seasoning Blend, Puzzles of Murderers, and Audible violence with you, and here I'm again.
Back to training my Russian ears and Audible.
In one of my latest posts on Instagram, I asked a question about what to listen to and read and got very fantastic suggestions that I can’t help but share with you :)
I've been a bookworm since birth, and it's tough to find something that I haven't yet read, but Samantha and Tracey managed it!
They advised the Caraval series by Stephanie Garber and the Mickey Bolitar series by Harlan Coben. I was looking for young adult books, so these two series fit perfectly in everything that I love :)
I started with Caraval and already got bogged down in the plot, which somehow reminds me of The Hunger Games, but let's see what happens next.
Another great find that Kimberly shared with me in the same audiobook Instagram post is The Moth - the Spotify podcast.
Since its launch in 1997, The Moth has presented thousands of true stories, told live and without notes, to standing-room-only crowds worldwide.
Moth storytellers stand alone, under a spotlight, with only a microphone and a roomful of strangers. The storyteller and the audience embark on a high-wire act of shared experience, which is both terrifying and exhilarating.
I've only completed three episodes so far, but it's very engaging and becomes fascinating to listen to, and now you seem to have become part of the story.
A very unusual experience for me.
And since we are talking books today, I want to use the opportunity and show off my new treasure.
This book survived two hurricanes and was abandoned as useless until I took it home one day.
Sometimes it happens that what seems like garbage to you is a treasure to someone else. Of course, it smells disgusting, but I have big plans for its restoration. And I already picked up some exciting things for my future characters from it.
So, excuse me, but I will look through this precious a little more, and in the meantime, it’s your turn to share your findings of the week and plans for the weekend with me. Psst, there is an opportunity to leave a comment.
